An interesting fact about the Boutelle line is that in going back to Robert White and Bridget Allgar, it reaches common ancestors with Richard Bissell.  So Richard Bissell and Adelaide Lyon Boutelle were 10th cousins, twice!  The Bissell line back to White and Allgar is through Mercy Ann Searle to the Loomis line, Lovisa Loomis b. 1766 back to Joseph Loomis b. 1590, who married Mary White, baptized 8/24/1590.  Mary was Sarah White's sister.  Note that there is likewise a connection through the Poole and Goodwin lines above, to Elizabeth White, Sarah's sister.

The connection of the Boutelle's to the White's is mentioned in Robert White's will.

Will of Robert White - May 27, 1617

- Item I give and bequeath unto mine eldest daughter Sarah, the wife of James Bowtell of little Sallinge, the summe of fifteene punds of lawfull mony of England, to be paid within fower years next after my depture. Item I give and bequeath unto Jeames Bowtell the younger, son of my said daughter Sarah Bowtell, the summe of five pounds of good and lawfull mony of England, to be paid unto him when he shall come to ye sixteenth yeare of his age.

William Goodwin's father was Ozias Goodwin, b. 1569 in Bocking, Essex; d. 1627, Bocking. Ozias wife was Susan Garbrand, who died 17 May 1676 in Farmington, CT.  It appears that William was the immigrant ancestor to New England , with his brother, also named Ozias, who was born in 1596.

Ozias 1569's father was Ozias Goodwin, b. 1543, Lindsell, Essex; died 1568, Bocking.

Bissell ancestor William Goodwin b. about 1591; d. Mar. 11, 1673, Farmington, CT. His name appears on Hartford's Founders Monument. William settled first at Newtown (Cambridge), MA (freeman Nov. 6, 1632; deputy to General Court May 1634), then at Hartford, CT 1636, Hadley, MA 1659, and Farmington, CT about 1670. He was the brother of Osias GOODWIN of Hartford. Elder William married second by Jan. 1669/70 Susan (GARBRAND) HOOKER (d. May 17, 1676, Farmington, CT), widow of Rev. Thomas HOOKER.  Married first Elizabeth White Nov. 7, 1616, Shalford, Essex, England.

With his brother, William 1591-1672/3, Ozias traveled from Bocking, Essex, England as part of the Braintree Co. on the ship Lyon. Ozias Goodwin was instrumental in organizing the voyage, which departed England 22 Jun 1632. The Braintree Co. was headed by Rev. Thomas Hooker and the Lyon arrived in Boston, Massachusetts on 16 September 1632 with 350 passengers, including 50 children. Ozias traveled to the New World with his wife, Mary (nee) Woodward and their first child, also named William. William traveled with his wife, Elizabeth White, and their children, Christopher and Elizabeth.

Ozias became a citizen of Hartford in 1639 or before. Records in the Conn. State Library prove this. Ozias died before April 1681.

James Boutwell/Boutell, born 1699 -- WILL: [Erlenkotter, 1987, p. 7: "The will of James Boutell of Leominster,
dated 15 Jul 1752 and allowed in the court on 2 Sep 1752, names his wife
Judith (whose bequests included "negro maidservant Phillis," who d.
Leominster, MA 4 Sept 1798 at age 62); sons James, William, Kendall, and
Timothy; and daughters Elizabeth, Katherine, and Sarah. Wife Judith and son
William are named executors, and son Kendall was to make payments to sister
Elizabeth Wood and brother Timothy (at age 23) [Worcester County probate file
no. 6366]. Samuel Pool was appointed guardian for Kendall Boutell on 2 Sep
1752 [Worcester County probate file no. 6376]."

John George, born 1625, was an inhabitant of Charlestown 29 Jul 1650, chosen chimney-sweep 1650/1. He and his family were allowed to remain in town until 2 Apr 1651. His will was noncupative, endtered and recorded 18 Oct 1666, divised to wife and six children, witness Thomas Osborn. Inventory taken 12 Sep 1666, £41.

From Savage’s Genealogical Dictionary:
John George, Charlestown 1657, had been in Mar 1641 apprentice for 8 years to Gov. Winthrop with his own consent, so that he may have been of full age, and a different person from him who was one of the founders of the first Baptist church in Boston 1665, d. 12 Sep 1666. Hutch. Coll. 399, shows the sad proceedings just before by the Court against him. His nuncupative will names widow Elizabeth, children Elizabeth Glazier, Martha Roe, or Row, John, Ruth, Hannah, and Mary. His widow married a. Harbour, and she had her children baptized Mary George, 15 Apr 1677; and John George, called young man, 5 Aug 1677. Mary married 11 Jul 1678, Joseph Dowse; Hannah married 25 Nov 1673, James Miller; and Ruth married 1668, Samuel Frothingham.

Detailed info on James Boutwell/Boutell, John George from Western Michigan Genealogical Society webpage, trees.wmgs.org

John Kendall, b. Abt 1580; his father John Kendall, b. about 1548; his mother Mary Miles

John Kendall, b. 1548; his father William Kendall, b. Abt 1527, Norfolk, Eng.; his mother Sarah Brayne

Lt. John Poole lived at the north end of the Great Pond. His grandfather John Poole bequeathed him one half of his estate in that vicinity, including the late residence [1874] and farm of Dea. Caleb Wakefield, the ‘Newcomb Mill,’ and the ‘Benja. Cox Farm in Lynnfield.’

Judith (Jacobs?) .  Judith married three times—first Capt. Jonathan Poole of Reading, second William Hasey of Reading as his second wife, and third Robert Goold as his second wife.

There are many conflicting statements concerning Judith's identity. Interested researchers should see William Prescott Greenlaw, “Historical Intelligence,” in N.E.H.G.R. 94:397-399. This differentiates among Judith (___) (Poole) (Hasey) Gould, her daughter Judith Poole, and her stepdaughter-in-law Judith (Jacobs) Hasey, as well as between the two William Haseys involved. See also the material on the Hersey family in Lincoln's History of Hingham, 2:298-299, to verify the lack of any connection between that family and Judith, wife of Robert Goold. [1]

Capt. Jonathan Poole.  Jonathan succeeded his father on the homestead, and also owned, in conjunction with his son John, much land at the north end of the pond. He was the second captain of the Reading company. ‘Was much valued in Phililp’s Indian war;’ ‘was a Captain under Major Appleton, at Hadley;’ ‘was President of a Council of War in the winter of 1675-6;’ ‘was selectman, justice of the peace, and reprsentative.’

John Poole, b. Abt 1610, the Immigrant.  He was a yeoman.  John came to New England in 1632 and briefly resided at Cambridge, but moved soon to Lynn in 1633, where he had there 200 acres, and last of Reading by 1650.

John “was one of the earliest settlers of Reading, and probably the wealthiest. He lived on the present [in 1874] site of Wakefield’s rattan factory where he built the first grist-mill and fulling mill of the town. He also owned much land at the north end of the Great Pond including the farm lately owned by Dea. Caleb Wakefield, and extending easterly, included the late Newcomb mill, where said Poole erected the first saw-mill, and included also the present farm of heirs of Benjamin Cox, of Lynnfield. He divided his estate between his son Jonathan and his grandson John.”

Henry and Anne Lunt. "History of the Lunt Family" p.114 states that Henry Lunt and his wife, Ann, came from England in the ship, Mary & John, and that they first landed at Agawam, now Ipswich, MA, and came to what is now called Newbury, MA, in the spring of 1634-5.
